> The Classic Center Cultural Foundation offers a grant opportunity every year for programs or projects that support performing, visual, or culinary arts efforts, and workforce development initiatives aligning with the hospitality industry in Athens-Clarke County. This year, four recipients whose projects aligned most with the criteria set in place were chosen. The Cultural Foundation thanks all of the programs and projects that applied as well as our generous donors who make this grant possible. We are pleased to announce the following recipients:
> Cedar Shoals High School ESOL workers: “Introducing Hospitality Workforce Training”-$1,000

> Funds will create a curriculum for approximately 75 students in the Cedar Shoals ESOL program introducing students to the various careers found in the Athens hospitality industry.

> Athens Community Career Academy: “FarmBot technology”-$1,500

> The FarmBot project will engage students from two career pathways, Advanced Manufacturing for construction and Culinary Arts for implementation, in constructing a robotic gardening system over one of the existing raised bed gardens in the Culinary Arts garden at the Athens Community Career Academy. 

> Farm2Neighborhood Foundation, Inc.: “Community Resource Center”-$1,500

> Farm to Neighborhood plans to establish a Neighborhood Resource Center that will function as a hands-on learning environment, emphasizing nutrition and healthy food preparation for younger students in the Clarke County School District as well as serve as a site for adult nutrition programming.

>

> ACC Arts Division: “Arts Summit 22”-$1,000

> Arts Summit 22 is a conference for creatives in Athens focusing on gaining professional skills, career learning strategies and the sharing of opportunities in visual arts, performing arts, film, dance, and public arts.
