Look up! It’s not a bird, and it’s much smaller than a plane. It’s a drone! Local Michael Gonyea uses drones for his Sky-G Aerial Imaging business.

Gonyea was already a real estate and architectural photographer who completed some shorter-term photo jobs, such as when he assisted The Oconee Enterprise’s sports editor in the spring.

However, Gonyea was able to expand to offer aerial photography after the FAA changed its certification process of drones to make it easier for people to become a commercial entity and use the drones in that sense.

For his real estate and architecture pictures, Gonyea likes to capture a progression of such projects with his drone. He has also photographed area schools, such as Oconee County High School’s recently renovated field.
