Rocky Branch Elementary School music teacher Joshua Luke grew up with a passion for music but with a plan to go into pharmaceuticals.

He enrolled in the University of Georgia as a chemistry major, but eventually, he felt like he wasn’t in the right place. He remembered his roots: playing saxaphone in a teenage band and singing in the chrous.

Luke earned a bachelor and master’s degree in music education. He began teaching in 2008 in Gwinnett County as a band director. In 2011, he got a job teaching elementary school in Barrow County and came to Rocky Branch Elementary School in 2017.
