Oconee County is home to the most revered principal in the state of Georgia.

Keith Carter, who has served at Oconee County Middle School since 2016, was named Middle School Principal of the Year by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals last week.

“This recognition means a great deal to me professionally and personally,” said Carter. “At OCMS, we are blessed with dedicated teachers and support staff, hard-working students and supportive parents who have all contributed to our successes.”

Carter is the first principal in the history of Oconee County Schools to achieve this honor.
