Most artists have just this world to explore their creative ideas. However, Bishop resident John Gholson is crafting his own universe.

He recently launched “B8V8,” a comic universe which will consist of its own unique characters, stories and settings. The effort was a long time coming for Gholson, who considers himself a lifelong artist.

The B8V8 universe will include 26 heroes and 26 villains, each rendered in a two-dimensional, older cartoon animation style. Some characters will be vagabond, rebels or ex-convicts, while others will be aliens, robots or what he calls “sentient beings” that are always present in a setting.
