Santa’s not the only one getting cookies this year.

Watkinsville will have an inaugural Cookie Crawl on Saturday, Dec. 14, the same day as the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation’s Mingle with Kringle, the Watkinsville Christmas Parade and the Tree Lighting.

Similar to a “pub crawl,” in which people visit multiple pubs or restaurants in one night, participants of the Cookie Crawl will patron more than a dozen businesses or organizations for cookies.

The fundraiser supports the Athens-Clarke County Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.

For a $20 donation to SANE, crawlers receive a map and a cookie container, which participating businesses will fill with cookies from 12-6 p.m. on the 14th. Crawlers may purchase and pick-up their cookie container at the ACC-SANE tent in the Chops & Hops parking lot.Only 250 cookie containers will be sold. They can also be purchased by texting “COOKIE19” to 91999.

Watkinsville businesses interested in participating can text “CRAWL19” to 41444.
