Premier Performance—an Oconee-based twirl, dance and cheer troupe—won third place overall at America’s Youth on Paradelast month and a handful of individual first-place honors.

Dressed as newsboys from the gilded age, a muckraking newspaper-themed ensemble of talented twirlers performed July 23-27 at the University of Notre Dame, where they impressed judges with their “strong bodies, confident minds and loving spirits”—a winning combination.

Competing against 45 to 50 other teams, Morgan Green won first place in solo for her age group, among other awards. Payton Stone earned second in strut for her age group. Catherine Atkinson took home second place in the solo category for her age group, among other awards.

MaKayla Briscoe was awarded first place for her solo and Blakeney Sewell first place for her solo.

In total, the team had three first place winners and 25 top finishes.
