One member from a local water conservation group was recognized for her efforts to promote water conservation and protection in Oconee County.

Georgia’s “Adopt-a-stream” program awarded Vicki Soutar, the chair of the Oconee Waters group, the Outstanding Outreach and Partnership Award earlier this year. This award is also mentioned on page B8 of this newspaper’s issue.

Soutar has been advocating for local water conservation for 20 years, since she became involved in the AAS program.
