(Greensboro GA—-October 21, 2019) Festival Hall and Downtown Greensboro are ready to celebrate Halloween as the weather finally begins to cool down. As town folk prepare for the one night only show:  "Live from WVL Radio Theatre:  The Headless Hessian of Sleepy Hollow (And Other American Horror Stories), "headless hessians" have been spotted in downtown storefronts in anticipation of Friday night's show.
"Live from WVL Radio Theatre: The Headless Hessian of Sleepy Hollow" is this Friday, October 25, 2019 at 8:00pm. This production transports theatergoers back to the Golden Age of Radio by presenting a live broadcast from 1946 with a re-imagining of classic American horror tales performed by professional acting troupe, Immediate Theatre Project from Asheville, NC. The audience will see behind the scenes of a radio show and watch the actors create all of the sound effects that made radio programming so engaging.
"We invite you to come out this Friday to kick off your Halloween weekend!" states Festival Hall director, Nicole Chillemi.  "Stop by your favorite eatery in town or grab a beer at Oconee Brewing Company before the show. Make it a evening in downtown Greensboro. We will even have jack-o-lanterns from our downtown pumpkin carving contest on display for this fun and festive evening."
The intrepid actors of WVL Radio Theatre will present a series of classic American horror stories, including one by Edgar Allan Poe, a creative retelling of the Lizzie Borden axe murders, and a thrilling re-imagining of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. Four actors, live sounds effects, and original music transport you back to 1946 when the imagination created horrors far more vivid than any that might actually be lurking in your living room…or your radio station!
Immediate Theatre Project created WVL Radio Theatre in 2009 and added "The Headless Hessian" in 2018. An adaptation  by actor, director and playwright Willie Repoley, "The Headless Hessian" has received rave reviews and has become an instant classic. Mountain XPress noted, “Immediate Theatre Project may have an unforeseen hit on its hands…a keen sense for vintage style…synchronized breaths chillingly echo through the microphones…this production is marvelous and maturely executed. Don’t miss it as it appears like an apparition, then vanishes as quickly as it came.”
"Live from WLV Radio Theater:  The Headless Hessian of Sleepy Hollow" is made possible with support from Visit Lake Oconee, Fox Theatre Institute and Georgia Presenters.
Doors will open by 7:30 and the show will start at 8:00, Friday October 25 at Festival Hall. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Festival Hall or on the website, www.festivalhallga.com
