Families who come to Reed’s Odds & Ends in Bishop are greeted by a decorated World War II veteran, Wallace Reed, who will turn 95 years old next month.

Born in Sanford, Kentucky, in 1925, Reed first served in the Navy. After World War II, he switched branches to the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Reed’s last seven years in the military were as an ROTC instructor at the University of Georgia. He retired from the Army in 1973 with an overall 30 years combined in the Army and Navy.
