Take a walk down memory lane at Downtown Greensboro’s Annual Rock n’ Roll Cruise-In


(Greensboro, Ga. - August 05, 2019) Downtown Greensboro and the Georgia Classic Cruisers will welcome back the Rock n’ Roll Cruise-In on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Take a walk down memory lane and enjoy all kinds classic cars from the 50s, 60s, 70s and more at this free event. As you walk up North Main Street to the Court House lawn, classic cars will line both sides of the street and visitors can enjoy some tunes from the Good Vibrations Band.
The Annual Rock n’ Roll Cruise-In event is hosted by Greensboro’s Georgia Classic Cruisers Car Club and the Greensboro Main Street program.  The event will feature antique, classic, vintage, street rods and special interest cars.  In addition, the event will have live music and encourage dancing, shopping, restaurant specials, hula-hooping, Old Gaol tours, and concessions to enhance the street-side Cruise-In.
“The Cruise-In is something I always look forward to each year,” said Ivy Smith, Greensboro Main Street Event Coordinator. “I’ve been attending the event since I was a young kid, and I always enjoy walking the streets of Downtown Greensboro looking for all of the ‘57 Chevys.”
For car participants, a registration fee of $20 includes door prizes and dash plaques, plus the opportunity to win one of 25 awards graciously sponsored by the Jimmy Britt Chevrolet, Buick, GMC dealership of Greensboro. Vehicle registration starts at 4 p.m. and awards will be distributed at 7:30 p.m. that evening. 
Each year, around 150 specialty cars will polish the streets of Downtwon Greensboro. You can expect any type of vehicle, from stock antiques to highly modified Hot Rods.  There will be an abundance of 60’s-70’s “muscle cars” to include GTO’s, Corvette’s, Chevelle’s, and Camaro’s, plus Ford Mustang’s and Chrysler products including Barracuda’s, Belvedere's and Road Runners. Also, on display will be several ’55, ’56, ’57, ’58 and ‘59 Chevrolets.  There will be something for every car enthusiast to enjoy.
Dust off your dancing shoes and prepare to dance the night away in historic Downtown Greensboro, listening to the sounds of the Good Vibrations Band.  The band delights listeners and dancers by performing an extensive collection of Motown hits, golden oldies, Carolina Beach music, timeless Rhythm & Blues favorites and much more.
Join in the fun as historic downtown Greensboro takes a step back into the past as memories and stories are swapped by attendees who “remember when…”  Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets or sit upon the bales of straw with family and friends as you enjoy a good ole’ southern family outing.
Throughout the evening, many of the downtown merchants and restaurants will remain open for you to enjoy a night full of shopping and dining at some of Downtown Greensboro’s finest places.
