Oconee banker and father Ryan Hammock won the Republican Primary runoff for Board of Education Post 3 with 57.89 percent of the vote. Hammock garnered 3,282 votes compared to Julie Mack’s tally of 2,387.

He will now face Melissa Eagling in the November General Election if Eagling is able to garner 1,425 signatures in a petition by July 12 to run as an Independent.

Independent candidate Ryan Repetske has also thrown his hat in the ring for BOE Post 2, in which he’d challenge incumbent candidate and Republican nominee Amy Parrish. He must also secure 1,425 signatures by July 12.

In both Oconee and the district as a whole, Republican Mike Collins defeated Vernon Jones solidly for the U.S. House District 10 race.
