As Westminster Christian Academy prepares to graduate its largest class ever, those 36 students will go through life with the motto, “Once a lion, always a lion.”

There are around 400 alumni of Westminster Christian Academy, which has served Oconee for 31 years.

The school now has an Alumni Council to continue connecting past students with current ones.

“We want our alumni to be an active part of our school community,” WCA headmaster Jared Clark said. “We are blessed to see many of our alumni enrolling their children in the school and reconnecting now as parents.”

Clark said that Westminster has  alumni coaching athletic teams, tutoring and engaging students in other ways on campus.

At the council’s first meeting, the school’s leadership team discussed ways for the school to reconnect with various alumni and to better understand their perspectives, Clark said.

The headmaster reiterated his excitement about the council’s future potential.

“The Westminster community is a place where we care deeply about each other so we all love engaging with our alumni in whatever way we can,” he said. “I look forward to seeing the Alumni Council develop and further engage with all school stakeholders.”
