With music, heartfelt congratulations and even a bouquet of flowers, Oconee County Middle School special education instructor Audrey Norman was recognized as her school’s “Teacher of the Year” last Friday.

Members from the middle school band played the school’s fight song in celebration of her recognition.

“Y’all got me good,” Norman said about the surprise ceremony.

Norman has previously taught special education at the elementary and high school levels in other counties before she began working in Oconee County eight years ago.

She worked at Malcom Bridge Middle School for two years before switching to OCMS six years ago.
