The Oconee Board of Education posthumously inducted educator Frances Martenson into the OCS Hall of Fame on Monday.

Martenson, who died last year, taught for over 20 years, much of that time at Oconee County Middle School. She taught both social studies and English language arts. In 2015, she was recognized as the school’s Teacher of the Year.

Though Martenson herself could not accept the award, her family, former colleagues and friends attended the meeting to honor her legacy.
