Unincorporated Oconee County may be voting only on a TSPLOST referendum, but every municipality except Bishop has at least one contested seat on the Nov. 2 ballot.

The Oconee County Democratic Party is hosting a virtual meet-and-greet Thursday, Oct. 21 beginning at 6:30 p.m. for both contested seats and non-contested seats among the Watkinsville, Bogart, Bishop and North High Shoals councils.

Organizer Pam Davis explained that elected officials and candidates will have five minutes to talk about their platform and that there will be no questions from the audience during those five minutes. She emphasized that even though this meet-and-greet is hosted by a political party, this is a nonpartisan event and that municipal races are nonpartisan.
