The Oconee County Planning Commission has recommended approval of rezoning 13.53 acres at the northeast corner of Jimmy Daniel Road and vend drive for an office park.

The proposed development at 1110 and 1130 Jimmy Daniel Road would consist of up to 86,000 square feet of general office and office-warehouse space. All buildings would be one-story tall. The property has been zoned agricultural district since the adoption of the county zoning map in 1968. Other properties in the vicinity have been developed into commercial businesses over the previous decades.

The rezone will now go before the Board of Commissioners on Aug. 3. That meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Oconee County Courthouse.

If approved, construction will begin in early 2022.
