Ten years after Dr. Eric Gordon graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, he is back in the area treating patients as an orthopedic surgeon.

Gordon was recruited to join the orthopedic sports medicine practice at Piedmont Athens Regional’s Oconee Health campus, which opened last month.

He specializes in advanced arthroscopic treatment of complex sports injuries and disorders of the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle, according to Piedmont’s biography of him.

He brings with him a variety of professional experience, ranging from working with high school athletes to collegiate and professional sports teams.
