City Officials and the Greensboro Main Street Program have called off Southland Jubilee.

(Greensboro, Ga.—March 19, 2020) The City of Greensboro and the Greensboro Main Street Program have made the tough decision to cancel the 2020 Southland Jubilee that was set to happen on April 18, 2020.

“After closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and speaking with the City of Greensboro's officials, we have decided to cancel this year's Southland Jubilee festival,” said Ivy Smith, Main Street program assistant and event coordinator. “This decision was not made lightly, but we feel that it is necessary in order to keep the staff, volunteers, and our community safe.”

Although the 2020 Southland Jubilee is canceled, the Jubilee staff is still making preparations for the 2021 Southland Jubilee.  Save the date for our favorite Spring Festival on April 17, 2021!

Southland Jubilee is not possible without the support of community sponsors each year. We would like to thank all of our sponsors that we had set for the 2020 Southland Jubilee: Visit Lake Oconee, Reynold’s Lake Oconee, The Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee, C.W. Smith Insurance, Bughouse Pest Control, St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital, The Farmer’s Bank, BankSouth, Oconee Valley Healthcare, NIBCO, Chick-fil-a Lake Oconee, Pinnacle Credit Union, Advance Disposal, Higdon Electric, Greene County Farm Bureau, The Georgia Classic Cruisers, Easley’s Yard Care, and Dock 103.9.

The Greensboro Main Street Program is working hard for continuous updates within in our community to keep everyone safe during this time. There are many temporary changes being made in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A closed door does not mean a closed business. Many of the businesses have transitioned into online shopping and curbside pick-up only. Many of the downtown businesses also offer gift cards that you can buy now and use later once it is safe to gather again.

Please follow the Downtown Greensboro social media pages on Facebook (Downtown Greensboro, GA)  or Instagram (dtgreensboroga) for updates that will keep you informed and safe. Or call your favorite store to see if they have special shopping opportunities to help you.
