The Oconee County Recreation Advisory Committee is seeking citizen input on Parks and Recreation projects for the 2021 SPLOST.
In addition to an online survey at surveymonkey.com/r/G6B23YB, the committee will meet Tuesday, Feb. 18 from. 6-8 p.m.At the meeting, committee members will collect suggestions per park that citizens recommend for the upcoming SPLOST.The survey will remain open until March 4.
SPLOST items can be used for funding capital outlay projects, such as new park facilities or park renovations.
“I hope citizens take advantage of the opportunity to share their thoughts on recreational needs in the county,” said Parks and Rec Director Lisa Davol.
One project that has been on Parks and Rec’s wish-list for awhile is an additional ingress and egress for Oconee Veterans Park.
This SPLOST will be on the ballot for the Nov. 3 General Election.
In other news, for the second time, Oconee County is applying for a $750,000 grant through theGeorgia Department of Community Affairs to expand the Oconee County Civic Center.
