Hundreds of people gathered last week for a lively outdoor celebration as one of Oconee’s three private schools commemorated a big milestone.

Alumni, teachers and students of Westminster Christian Academy celebrated the school’s 30th anniversary.

In 1989, the academy started with 12 students in elementary grades, and now that student population has expanded to include 360 students in grades K through 12.

Jared Clark, Westminster’s third and current headmaster, said he thought it was incredible to see the founders’ vision flourishing and lived out.

“A lot has changed in 30 years, but it’s awesome to see the mission and the vision of Westminster Christian Academy is still the same,” Clark said. “We’re just so grateful for the impact we’ve been able to have upon families, students and this community for 30 years.”
