North Oconee High School’s swimming and diving team recently showed off its skills in its second home meet of the season.
According to information provided by the North Oconee coaches to The Oconee Enterprise, the Titan Tide won 11 of the meet’s 24 events. The boys team (548 points) and girls team (516 points) won the overall meet.
Their combined 1,064 points put them well ahead of Loganville High School, which finished second with 658 combined points.
North Oconee won the girls 200 medley relay (Ansley Halbach, Kailey Teyner, Nicole Avelar, Mary Mustard), the girls 200 freestyle (Ansley Halbach), the boys 1-meter diving (Bricen Daughtry) and the girls 1-meter diving (Karlee Wells).
The Titan Tide also clinched first place in the girls 100 freestyle (Mary Mustard), the boys 200 freestyle relay (Gavin Jones, Eli Allen, William Johnson, Sam Krosner) and the girls 200 freestyle relay (Ansley Halbach, Rebecca Pursner, Kailey Teyner, Mary Mustard).
Additionally, they took home the boys 100 backstroke (Gavin Jones), girls 100 backstroke (Ansley Halbach), girls 100 breaststroke (Kailey Teyner) and the boys 400 freestyle relay (Gavin Jones, David Duncan, William Johnson, Sam Krosner).
With the most recent results, North Oconee’s program had several new state qualifiers.
The new qualifiers consisted of Mary Mustard (50 freestyle and 100 freestyle), Ansley Halbach (100 backstroke), William Johnson (500 freestyle), Sam Krosner (500 freestyle) and Kailey Teyner (100 breaststroke).
North Oconee’s most recent home meet extended the program’s home success thus far in the 2021-22 season.
In early December, the Titan Tide won its first home meet of the season with the boys scoring 632 points and the girls totaling 614 points. Their combined score of 1,246 points was ahead of Loganville (769 combined points).
North Oconee won 15 of the 24 total events held during that meet.
The Titan Tide victories consisted of the boys 200 medley relay (David Duncan, T.J. Lu, Eli Allen, Kian Qadri), girls 200 medley relay (Sidney Lyn, Kailey Teyner, Rebecca Pursner, Mary Mustard) and the girls 200 freestyle (Rebecca Pursner).
The Titans also took the boys 200 IM (Gavin Jones), girls 200 IM (Kailey Teyner), girls 50 freestyle (Mary Mustard), boys 1-meter diving (Aiden Sadler), girls 1-Meter diving (Rin Drudge), boys 100 freestyle (Eli Allen), girls 100 freestyle (Mary Mustard), boys 200 freestyle relay (Gavin Jones, T.J. Lu, Eli Allen, William Johnson) and girls 200 freestyle relay (Kailey Teyner, Tanvi Prakash, Emilia Mohorn, Sidney Lyn).
They placed first as well in the boys 100 backstroke (Gavin Jones), boys 400 freestyle relay (Gavin Jones, Kian Qadri, David Duncan, William Johnson) and the girls 400 freestyle relay (Rebecca Pursner, Tanvi Prakash, Emilia Mohorn, Mary Mustard).
Next up, North Oconee’s swimmers and divers will compete Jan. 15 at the Ramsey Center on the University of Georgia campus in Athens.
