High school wrestling season is in full swing, and the teams at Oconee County High School and North Oconee High School are both rolling.

As of press time Tuesday, North Oconee held a 6-1 overall record on the season according to MaxPreps. Oconee County stood at 20-6, including a 2-0 mark in region competition.

The Titans started their season Nov. 20 with a victory over South Forsyth High School. They took the meet 45-34. They also topped Grayson High School 57-12.

Those results helped North Oconee place second in the Cambridge Duals in Milton.

On Dec. 4, the Titans dropped a meet against Social Circle High School, falling 68-6.

That same day, however, they toppled Dawson County High School 54-6.

North Oconee scored a close victory against Oconee County on Dec. 8, winning 38-37.

The Titans won their most recent meets, too.

They beat Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy on Dec. 14, taking the meet 60-7. They later defeated Hiram High School on Dec. 22, winning 59-18.

Oconee County has enjoyed lots of success, too.

The Warriors started their season Nov. 12 with a victory over Dacula (64-15) and a loss to Walnut Grove (46-34).

They defeated Northgate on Nov. 17, winning 60-12, before beating Flowery Branch 45-25.

Oconee picked up its first region victory with a 39-33 win over Hart County. The Warriors beat Hiram 58-18.

After taking a 45-33 loss to Oglethorpe County, Oconee beat Apalachee (66-18) and Loganville (54-28) before dropping a 60-18 decision to West Forsyth.

Oconee beat Lassiter 48-33 then topped Mount Pisgah Christian 42-37. The Warriors kept winning when they squared off against Denmark, taking the meet 45-30. They also beat Roswell, 60-15.

Rockmart handed the Warriors a 50-25 loss on Dec. 4 but Oconee beat Adairsville (46-30), North Hall (36-34), Hart County (51-27) and Dublin (57-16) that same day in the Battle at the Bluff Tournament.

The Warriors beat Clarke Central 71-12 before taking their loss against North Oconee.

They beat East Jackson 40-37 and Apalachee 72-12.

Jackson County gave the Warriors their sixth loss, winning 39-36, but Oconee beat Elbert County 46-29 and Putnam County 57-24 to carry a two-match winning streak into this week.

Oconee returned to action this past Tuesday after press time in the East Metro Tournament held at Loganville High School.
