PACS senior Taylor Bond pitched two games to help the Lady Wolverines to a first round victory over North Cobb Christian on Wednesday.

Prince Avenue Christian School senior Taylor Bond has been a consistent presence for the Lady Wolverines for four years now.

In the Lady Wolverines’ two-game sweep over North Cobb Christian, Bond showed her worth as she pitched every inning of the Lady Wolverines’ wins.

She allowed one hit in her two starts and one run. Bond was 3-for-7 with two runs batted in at the plate. Her performance has made her this week’s Oconee Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation/Oconee Enterprise Athlete of the Week.

Bond has improved her hitting throughout the season and is improved from last season. Bond has become a balanced threat for the Lady Wolverines.

Balance has become a key to Bond’s every day life. In addition to her duties as a student-athlete, Bond has taken up the beginnings of a modeling career. Knowing that she would need to be away from the team some days to make it to shoots in Atlanta, Bond struck a deal with PACS head coach Donnie Byrom.

“We had to come to an agreement, we needed her, but she also felt a need to be with her teammates,” Byrom said. “It’s important for me as a coach to do what’s best for the program, but also what’s best for the individual. She’s done a great job of balancing both and I know it keeps her busy. We need her and I think she needed to finish her dedication to Prince Avenue softball. That says a lot about her character as a person.”

Bond’s interest in modeling is something she sees herself continuing in the future. Even as the future comes more into focus and quickly approaches, Bond wanted to be with the team as much as she could throughout the season.

“I make a point to be here for all the games and practices,” Bond said. “I’m going to model more after softball season, but I really care about the team and I want us to do well this year. I’ve been making an effort to make sure that I’m here for all the girls and coaches on this team.”
