Gale hired as city police chief

Oconee resident and 25-year police veteran Courtney Gale has been chosen as Watkinsville’s next chief of police. When she takes office Jan. 8, Gale will be the first woman in the city’s history to serve in that position.

Gale, who most recently served as police chief of Thomson, replaces Interim Chief Todd Tetterton. Tetterton has been in that role since former Chief Shannon Brock went on medical leave on May 8.
