Judge confirms DA infringed on victim’s rights

Following a Marsy’s Law violation hearing in November, Western Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Eric Norris found that in several examples, Gonzalez did, in fact, infringe on the rights of a victim.

fic. Mejia then fled the scene and was arrested 40 minutes later with open containers found in his vehicle.

The victim is being represented by Watkinsville attorney Kevin Epps, who has filed multiple legal challenges against the DA’s Office this year. The victim claims her constitutional and statutory rights under the Georgia Crime Victims Bill of Rights were violated.
