When selecting the Athlete of the Week for each edition of The Oconee Enterprise, a lot of different factors come into play, including how well each candidate performed, what sport the athlete competes in and how recently an athlete has earned the distinction. When possible, we try to avoid making the same person Athlete of the Week twice in a row.

For what Aaron Philo did in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday night, we’ll make an exception.

After being named Athlete of the Week for a 477-yard, six-touchdown performance against Bryan County in Prince Avenue’s semifinal game, Philo turned in 404 total yards and five more touchdowns to help the Wolverines win their third state championship in four years.
