Smith earns first win as head coach of OCHS boys basketball

As the final buzzer sounded, Ryan Smith couldn’t help himself. He pumped his fist. He yelled. He jumped for joy.

After a tense four quarters, the Oconee County Warriors closed out a 63-59 win over Loganville. It was Smith’s first win as head coach of the Warriors after being hired in the offseason.

“Does it mean a lot to me? Yes, but this is more about the guys,” Smith said. “I want the guys to be rewarded, I want them to be successful.”

Oconee County trailed for the majority of the game and was down 50-44 going into the fourth quarter, but outscored Loganville 19-9 in the final frame.
